Blogging the City Council hearing

The City Council’s subcommittee on Planning, Dispositions and Concessions will hold its hearing on the proposed redevelopment of Willets Point tomorrow morning at 10 a.m in the Council Chambers, and I’ll be in attendance providing periodic updates on all the action.

The hearing will officially begin the city’s final push to get their massive redevelopment project approved by the City Council, a process that will culminate with the vote of all 51 members scheduled for Nov. 12. The Economic Development Corp., which drafted the city’s plan, will undoubtedly have to address a number of concerns posed by Council members in recent months, including the effect of the economic crisis, the amount of affordable housing and the potential use of eminent domain.

So tune into the Iron Triangle Tracker all day tomorrow for complete coverage of the hearing, from the testimony inside to the rallies outside and any banter in between.
